self responsibility

I am SO rejoicing in what is happening in friends and family's lives at the moment. One friend has started a new career and is bound to be absolutely awesome at it, another friend has decided that doing what she loves is more important then her career: she is going on a world trip -cycling accross many continents for a year, another friend is contemplating divorce and following his inner radar, he has been putting this decision off for a few years but is now ready for it and me: well I again made peace with what is, celebrate my wonderful life and have gone on exploration and doing training. I keep hearing that it's a time that is very busy, often times stressful or plain derailing for many people. The good news is that many seem to wake up to the fact that many things have happened because of the choices they have made themselves.

As one friend said to me today: it's about self responsibility.

We can decide to blame governments for the economy being crap, or our spouse being afwul, or our work being sh*t, but at the end of the day we usually find out that hey we did choose to study or not, have a study debt or not, support the government we have or not, have the partner we wanted or not, are alone or not, know what we want or not right now, follow our gut feelings or not, live wisely or not, have money or not, choose to be happy despite anything... or not. Either way it doesn't matter in the big scope of things all these details: it matters to us only what we feel we want to do right? Whether we feel we matter, whether our connection to the larger part of who we are (some call this God) means anything, whether we wil be happy with what we are doing now and on and on. My we get busy thinking about stuff don't we?

Ultimately: this is our life. We do the best we can in deciding how to choose and navigate our way through it. But to blame anyone outside of us for anything that doesn't work the way we want it to, is outdated. It also very conditional. In case you have forgotten as well from time to time: love is unconditional. Yes that applies to yourself too. Stop beating yourself up already. So you are searching. Groovy! Shake it baby.

This is your life remember? Do you want change? Work it dude! You are the only one who can effectively bring about the change you want to see. You ARE the change you want to see. Stop whining to other people how it should be for you instead of how it is, just go work on how it will become already!

Lots of love.

bridging the gap

Back from hols! Holy days. Hip hip!
Anyway...

The last few weeks have brought up much joy, some grief and the usual bust your balls or else. Nothing out of the ordinary in that sense. But! Some things were -again- very useful to come across and to discuss with others too. (I had immense fun as well finishing an art project with fellow collaborator Joi.)

In two areas I spotted the "bridging of the gaps":
  1. between where we are now and that goal we envision in our brain
  2. the communication gap that exists between what we can now understand and that place where we will grasp more eureka and ahas further down the track
These 2 have something in common and I'm not just talking the obvious gap here. The illuminated thought has crossed my curly brain that perhaps these things could either be:
  • one and the same thing?
  • 2 birds of a feather flock together or
  • door number 3: quantum mechanics
Take your pick.

What I find snazzy in this wee theory is that indeed we are unable to explain something for example that we have experienced in great exciting detail if the listener is not in the "frame of mind" where we currently exist to comprehend our endeavor. It's like explaining how to make Chinese to an Italian in Russian. Precisely. (Banging head against wall.)

So here is a recipe:
Don't tell someone more then what they can chew (or what they can follow). It's unlikely a stock broker has any understanding of the world of sewing and needles, and no skydiver has been expected to be thrilled to attend a seminar of manicurists.

So! What makes great sense is if you wish to "upgrade" someone in the sharing of a story is to do this in steps. Every time you add to the story in a slightly more out of the box frame then before and see where you can get to. I have done this experiment and discovered I could take it to a certain point and then discovered the train station, which I knew was the boundary of where that person wished to go at that particular time. They were unable to follow me further afield. This is fine. We are all equipped to understand more in particular very "niche" areas. All of us have our own train stations with various platforms.

Or has some people have said:
"You can't hear what you are not ready to understand." Or in simple words: understanding goes as far as what knowledge and comprehension has been downloaded in your being. So, to return to the "bridging of the gap":
  • if you wish to understand better, open your mind more (go multi dimensional).
  • if you wish to judge less... accept grey as a primary intricate colour
  • if you wish to grow greatly apply the 2 points above.
So here's to Live long and prosper!

change

Today we are going to chat a bit about change. Not that I haven't done so before ;)

I'm going through quite a transformation at the moment and seeing the light or not, one also needs to do the dishes every night and walk the dog. So it is getting into the exhilaration of "knowing" and the act and purposefulness of "doing". I am happy and excited to continue to bring you funny and informative reads. Feedback is always welcome, questions too.

Now then. What are most of us experiencing and wanting at the moment?

You are wanting an expansion of your knowing. Many are troubled. The world as we have known it is changing. Tell your story. Tell of how you wish it to be in your life. Know that you are strong and that your vision (ambition/goals) can be realized. You may be required to leave that which you know to be familiar behind you.

What is holding you back? What is your biggest wish? What do you dream of? What are you afraid of?

Not many want to have their questions answered in fear of what it will tell them. The alternative is to lead your life without knowing. How much fun can there be in that? I have made a start and done things to contribute to that which is good for many. See what you can do. Start a group, build a movement... or simply share what's on your mind and what is waiting in your heart. It's not that hard. You made it so if it is.

Make friends, be open, be courageous, dare to live, cease to be afraid. The time is now and embracing the change that is, is found on your doorstep. Will you take a chance? Open the door and finally immerse in that which is bigger then you. It's exciting and it is fun. Join the Change that we all are becoming.
